Educational Objectives

  • An overview of contemporary oral medicine for the general practitioner with emphasis on dental management of medically complex patients. Key topics will include dental rehabilitation of patients with dento-alveolar anomalies, unique aspects of dental care in diabetes patients, the implications of respiratory diseases on the dental treatment, management of patients with cognitive or neurologic conditions, advances in dental and oral imaging techniques.
  • Likewise, the conference will provide a review about principles of safe use of laser in the dental practice. The course will allow participants to take an exam for Basic Laser Safety.
