Big Data: Scary? Scrupulous? Secretive? All of the Above?

Big data—along with machine learning, predictive analytics, and AI—is creating novel and thorny ethical dilemmas in our day-to-day lives.

Rochester outreach librarian Bob Berkman will explore how the perceived future threat of emerging digital technologies were depicted in the popular and prescient 2002 film Minority Report.

Join Berkman for a discussion on the worrisome technology trends that did come to pass, those which did not, and a few unanticipated data concerns that were not predicted, but actively changing today's culture.
