Breaking the Bubble: A Conversation with Imani Olear of Yoga 4 a Good Hood

Imani Olear is the Senior Pastor of Reformation Lutheran Church in downtown Rochester. Through public speaking, training and yoga, Imani works towards helping others heal from shame, work towards forgiveness, and renew their self identity.

Imani states, “As a woman of color, that comes from brokenness, experienced hardship and struggle, abuse and self degradation I understand the need for peace in ones life. I strongly believe that yoga can help us look at deeper ways that we can address the issues of brokenness, hardship, struggle, abuse and self degradation and people will find peace within instead of always seeking something outside of themselves.”

Breaking the Bubble is a community conversation series sponsored by the Rochester Center for Community Leadership and Office for Residential Life and Housing which highlights issues of interest to both the UR campus community and the general Rochester community.

Free refreshments will be served.
