Join the University at Buffalo Community Health Equity Institute and University of Rochester Medicine Center for Community Health & Prevention for this inaugural Western New York regional health equity conference featuring keynote speaker Leonard Egede, MD, MS, FACP. The event will also include a panel of experts, speed networking, and research poster sessions.

Dr. Egede, the Charles and Mary Bauer Endowed Chair of Medicine at University at Buffalo, is a nationally-recognized expert on health disparities. 

Submit your abstract: Community-based organizations, community groups, researchers, trainees, staff and students are invited to submit abstracts about organized community programs, initiatives or research designed to mitigate health inequities in Wester NY. 

Submissions are due by 11:59 PM Friday, August 28. 

The symposium will serve as a dynamic forum for sharing innovative research, highlighting community-driven initiatives, and fostering cross-sector collaboration aimed at improving health outcomes for underserved populations across the Western New York region. With a focus on actionable strategies, the event will explore topics such as social determinants of health, community-engaged research, health policy, and equitable access to care, and feature a keynote presentation, panel discussions, and abstract-driven sessions showcasing cutting-edge work in health equity. In addition to research presentations, the event will include networking opportunities, student engagement activities, poster awards, and recognition of outstanding contributions through awards focused on health equity impact, community engagement, and innovation.

Bus transportation will be provided from University of Rochester Medicine to the Buffalo campus.
