Building and Managing an Effective Research Program

The program presented by Stephen Dewhurst, Ph.D. Professor of Microbiology and Immunology Vice Dean for Research and Jill Halterman, MD, MPH Professor of Pediatrics Executive Vice Chair, Department of Pediatrics

Developing an effective research program is a key aspect of success for junior faculty. In this session, Drs. Stephen Dewhurst and Jill Halterman, with experience in preclinical and clinical research, respectively, will join us to share their insights into developing a research program. Topics will include the hiring of staff (research coordinators, lab technicians, etc.), setting expectations of the lab research culture, and day-to-day management of a research program, including virtual management techniques.

The last half hour will be available for networking with JFBRA members.
