The BIC focuses on identity-based programming, supporting minoritized communities, exploring the intersections of identity, and connecting students to unique resources and support. The Meliora Vision & Values and College Competencies are prevalent in all that the center does. They work closely with students, staff, faculty, and offices across campus to foster a collaborative environment throughout the year. Staff develop resources that complement and supplement curricular offerings, build intercultural humility, and promote and encourage cultural understanding and appreciation among the campus community. In addition, they provide opportunities for education and dialogue on topics such as race, religion, LGBTQ matters, privilege, intercultural communication, and bias-related incidents.
