 th the demands for healthcare transformation\, senior leaders in academic 
 health centers must meet complex and emerging challenges. Today’s leader
 s need new\, innovative approaches to shape the future of healthcare\, med
 ical education\, and research\, and must be able to engage others in gener
 ating and implementing new pathways for success.\n\n \n\nApplications are 
 due on or before May 31\, 2025.\n\n \n\nProgram Aim\n\nTo develop senior l
 eaders in academic medicine through evidence-based\, collaborative learnin
 g and reflective practice\, and to guide participants in being transformat
 ional leaders.\n\n \n\nProgram Overview\n\nThe Senior Leader Education and
  Development (SLED) Program is a two-year educational leadership developme
 nt program created to address a professional development need in leadershi
 p development for senior leaders in academic medicine. It is designed to f
 oster practical knowledge from recognized theoretical models and best prac
 tices. SLED addresses the following leadership domains:\n\nSetting Directi
 on and VisionLeading by Developing OthersLeading by Developing and Maintai
 ning Organizational Efficiency (Administration and Management)Leading thro
 ugh Organizational Development\nProgram Goals\n\nUpon completion of the SL
 ED program\, participants will have enhanced their abilities to:\n\nDescri
 be effective academic leadership practices and capabilities\;Apply relevan
 t leadership theories and frameworks to guide their ongoing leadership dev
 elopment and leadership effectiveness in various settings and situations\;
 Demonstrate leadership behaviors that include effective communication\, ne
 gotiation\, performance management\, strategic planning\, and organization
 al development (e.g. creating a shared vision\, developing people and capa
 city\, enabling change)\;Use reflective practice and self-management strat
 egies to develop and enhance their personal leadership style\;Apply leader
 ship knowledge and skills to the strategic and tactical issues facing URMC
  through focused discussions and an experiential leadership project.\n Pro
 gram Components\n\nSLED is multi-faceted two-year program that includes:\n
 \nMonthly seminars (September-May)\, Second Wednesdays\, 4:00pm - 5:30pmIn
 dependent learning and reflective practiceReal-life application through an
  individual experiential mentored leadership project that addresses a prog
 rammatic or departmental/ institutional need and focuses on improving lead
 ership competence and skillsPresentation of planned leadership project in 
 Year 1 at a dinner meeting (June)Presentation of completed leadership proj
 ect in Year 2 at a dinner meeting with participant’s Department Chairs/ 
 Center Directors and mentors (June)Engagement in a professional learning c
 ommunity of senior leaders\n SLED Participants\n\nThis two-year program is
  designed to provide a leadership development opportunity for URSMD facult
 y in senior leadership positions. It is cohort-based and size is limited. 
 Priority will be given to faculty with significant leadership responsibili

 \n \n\nFaculty\n\nIn addition to the Program Directors\, the SLED program 
 includes selected guest faculty.\n\n \n\nProgram Dates\n\nSeptember 2025 
 – June 2027Monthly seminars: Second Wednesdays\, 4:00pm - 5:30pm (Septem
 ber - May). Seminars will include virtual sessions and in-person sessions.

 his program is made possible through educational funds from the Dean’s o
 ffice. There is no charge to faculty for attending this program.\n\n \n\nA
 pplication\n\nURSMD faculty at the Associate Professor or Professor level 
 who have senior intra-departmental or interdepartmental leadership positio
 ns are invited to apply. This may include Vice- or Associate Chairs\, Divi
 sion Chiefs\, Program Directors or other major leadership roles across our
  clinical\, educational\, research\, and community missions. The applicati
 on cover letter must describe the faculty’s commitment to the program\, 
 to completing a focused mentored leadership project\, and a summary of car
 eer goals. The complete application consists of the cover letter\, a curre
 nt CV\, and a letter of support from the Department Chair/Center Director 
 that includes the potential benefit of the SLED program to the individual 
 and to the department/institution mission. Please combine all documents as

 l participants completing the program\, as determined by attendance at lea
 st at 70% of seminars\, development and implementation of a focused mentor
 ed leadership project\, and presentation of planned and implemented projec
