In alignment with honoring the traditions and practices of persons of African descent, the University of Rochester’s institutional-wide Juneteenth celebration will feature artistic expressions of freedom, highlight vendors from the Greater Rochester community, and honor significant Juneteenth food items, and much more during the day-long fair.

This culminating university program will highlight artistic and creative expressions to the inquiries: what does “freedom” mean to you and what does Juneteenth signify to you?

This event is sponsored by the University of Rochester’s Institutional Office of Equity and Inclusion, Office of Human Resources, Office of the President, Office of Alumni and Constituent Engagement, University Facilities and Services, Office of Endowment, Student Fellowships Office of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering, Frederick Douglass Institute for African and American Studies of the School of Arts and Sciences, the Office of Minority Student Affairs, the Black Students’ Union, and the City of Rochester.
