Turn Your Idea Into a Venture

Are you working on an engineering project that could become something bigger?

The Charles and Janet Forbes Entrepreneurial Competition is your opportunity to turn a technical idea into a real venture. This competition challenges engineering students to think beyond the lab and explore how their designs could become products, companies, and real solutions in the world.

Charles Forbes believed engineers should not only build great technology but also understand how to bring it to market. The Forbes Competition encourages exactly that. Students develop a business plan around their design work, exploring the financial, marketing, and production aspects needed to launch a company.

The Forbes Entrepreneurial Competition is open to University of Rochester undergraduate and graduate students in engineering who are developing innovative technical projects with potential real-world applications.
