Children with neurologic symptoms can be challenging for primary care providers to diagnose and manage; however, there are disorders which can be initially or completely managed by a primary care provider. This workshop is designed to increase the primary care provider’s knowledge regarding common neurologic diagnoses in children. Diagnostic criteria, initial management and when to refer to a neurologist will be reviewed, along with relevant medication management.

Learning Objectives:

1.)  Recognize the signs and symptoms of common neurologic disorders in children

2.)  Explain the initial workup and management of these common neurologic disorders

3.)  Demonstrate the ability to diagnose common neurologic disorders and prescribe medications appropriately
