Join Wilmot Cancer Institute's Office of Community Outreach, Engagement and Disparities and Wilmot's Community Cancer Action Council in listening to Sharon Belvin’s journey as a stage 4 melanoma survivor who was one of the first recipients of immunotherapy through a clinical trial.
From failed therapies to the promise of hope in a clinical trial, Sharon’s expertise is not only that of a survivor but of someone who has spent the last 15 years trying to ‘pay it forward.’ She hopes to help people realize that positive lifestyle choices can make a positive influence on your life. Making healthy lifestyle choices can help to dramatically reduce the incidences of cancer and other lifestyle induced illnesses.
Sharon will be introduced by Dr. Jim Allison, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine and Executive Director of the Immunology Platform at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
