In connection with the exhibition, "Victoria: A Ruling Image", Associate Professor of History Jean Pedersen will give a talk titled ‘Queen Victoria, Susan B. Anthony, and the Complex Worlds of Victorian Women." This talk provides new insight into the complex worlds of Victorian women by exploring nineteenth-century European and American debates over women’s rights and roles.
Jean Elisabeth Pedersen is Associate Professor of History in the Humanities Department of the Eastman School of Music and the History Department of the University of Rochester.
Her research and teaching interests include European history, comparative European and American history, international women’s history, and the history of feminism from the fifteenth century to today.This talk is part of her new project on “the international Susan B. Anthony.”
