The Program of Dance and Movement at the University of Rochester is thrilled to present Confluence ’24, a concert of dance by students and faculty.

This annual performance showcases the mentored choreography of Program of Dance & Movement students as well as captivating work by faculty member, Ripp Greatbatch for the Dance Ensemble class (DANC 237), a first-year student dance work choreographed by faculty Rose Pasquarello Beauchamp, and a sneak peek of faculty member, Anne Wilcox’s, piece, A Time for Mending. The full array of pieces will be featured Nov. 1-3 in the University of Rochester’s Smith Theater, housed in the beautiful Sloan Performing Arts Center on the University of Rochester River Campus.

The evening includes 11 works, with a cast of nearly 50 dancers. Students like Ezra Tock and Catherine Malone stretch their creative skills by incorporating props that push their choreographic invention. Ezra Tock collaborated with the mechanical engineering department to build a rotating stage. ME faculty, Chris Muir, along with Head Mechanic of the Taylor Shop, Bill Mildenberger planned and constructed the set, and Charles Lawlor of the Theater department oversaw the painting and finishing of it. Catherine Malone crafted her piece on a suspended disc and worked with Chris VerSneider of the Theater Department to install the apparatus. Other talented choreographers contributing to the exciting program include Rachel Bast, Gabriela Rojas Bowe, Roni Kirson, Stella Lempert, Manita Okopu, Doreen Prempeh, and Reece Stallwitz.
