The class, led by Wilmot Cancer Institute oncology dietitians, is open to 25 people and each class, the participants prepare four to five recipes. Participants then sit down to enjoy the fruits of their labor, sharing the meal that they have preepared. Each class teaches strategies to eat a more whole-food, plant-based diet and participants go home with a packet of new recipes each month.
Classes run the third Thursday of each month, except for July, when there is no class. The lunch time class runs from 12 to 2 p.m. in January, March, May, August, October and December. The evening class is held from 5 to 7 p.m in February, April, June, September and November.
This event is hosted by Wilmot Cancer Institute, with support from Gilda's Club of Rochester and the Pluta Cancer Center Foundation. It is open to all Wilmot Cancer Institute patients and their caregivers, as well as members of Gilda's Club Rochester.
No referral is needed, but registration is required by calling, (585) 486-0630.
