Please attend for 'Visualizing Dante in Poppi and Rochester,' a discussion of Dante and his artistic afterlives in the Biblioteca Rilliana (Poppi, Italy) and the Memorial Art Gallery (Rochester, NY). Our speakers ( will introduce participants to the Rilliana and the MAG, exploring their collections and their history, as an introduction to a 3-week seminar in Poppi during Summer 2022 that will explore the Rilliana Library's extraordinary Dante collection, teaching students the fundamentals of paleography, codicology, paper conservation, history of the book, and more. The seminar will culminate in a student-curated exhibit at the University of Rochester in Fall 2022.
This event is part of the Central New York Humanities Corridor 'Visualizing Dante' working group.
