The Department of Surgery’s 2025 Research Symposium will be held April 3rd beginning at 7am in the Class of ‘62 Auditorium. This symposium brings in fascinating keynote speakers who share their research and spend time discussing the unique opportunities and challenges of the surgeon-scientist with residents, post docs, medical students and other trainees. 

Visiting professor Ashley M. Holder, MD, FACS, Assistant Professor, Surgical Oncology, Program Director and co-PI, NCI T32 Research Training Program, MD Anderson is this year’s keynote speaker. The Research Symposium includes an abstract competition in which participants have the opportunity to present their research (8:00-9:30 am) followed by a research poster presentation competition in the Flaum Atrium (9:30-11:30 am).
Awards are available to the those whose presentations and posters are scored the highest by a panel of judges.
