 be held on May 7 at 7 a.m. in the Class of ‘62 Auditorium. This symposiu
 m brings in fascinating keynote speakers who share their research and spen
 d time discussing the unique opportunities and challenges of the surgeon-s
 cientist with residents\, postdocs\, medical students\, and other trainees
 .\n\nVisiting professor Mayur B. Patel\, MD\, MPH\, FACS\, FCCM\, a profes
 sor of surgery\, of hearing and speech sciences\, and of neurological surg
 ery\, and the Ingram Chair in Surgical Sciences Education at Vanderbilt Un
 iversity School of Medicine is this year’s keynote speaker.\n \n\nThe Re
 sident Research Symposium includes an abstract competition in which partic
 ipants have the opportunity to present their research\, followed by a rese
 arch poster presentation competition from the Department of Surgery Reside
 nts in the Flaum Atrium. Awards are available to those whose presentations
  and posters are scored the highest by a panel of judges.
