The Internist’s Scalpel: The Art and Science of Diagnosis, presented by Mary Anne Morgan, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care, Department of Medicine, URMC.

Educational Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation participants should be able to:

1.  Identify errors in cognition that contribute to delayed, incorrect, or missed diagnoses.

2.  Apply the concepts of pretest probability, likelihood ratio, and disease prevalence to assist in diagnosis.

3.  Methodically approach the medical literature on diagnosis to improve patient care.
