The Medical Center will give two presentations:
"Sjogren’s Syndrome" , presented by Kalyna Jakibchuk, MD, Rheumatology Fellow, Department of Medicine, Division of Allergy, Immunology & Rheumatology.
"Biologic Therapy in the Management of Asthma", presented by Jennifer Pier, MD, Allergy/Immunology Fellow, Department of Medicine, Division of Allergy, Immunology & Rheumatology.
At the conclusion of this presentation participants should be able to:
Presentation 1:
1. Know the differentials for dry eyes and dry mouth.
2. Understand how dry eyes and dry mouth are treated.
3. Understand how to begin the work up for sicca symptoms and when to consider Sjogren’s Syndrome.
Presentation 2:
1. To understand which patients are good candidates for biologic therapy for asthma.
2. To know which biologics are available, including the benefits and risk of each.
3. To better understand which biologic to use for certain patients.
