Mary Ellen Riegel, M.D. Memorial Lecture; "Stroke Care Delivery in the Modern Age The Mobile Stroke Treatment Unit:  A New Systems Concept", presented by Webster Pilcher, MD, PhD, Ernest & Thelma Del Monte Distinguished Professor of Neuromedicine and Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery and Tarun Bhalla, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery, Director of Stroke & Cerebrovascular Services, University of Rochester Medical Center.

Educational Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation participants should be able to:

1.  Identify the two types of strokes, the signs of a stroke and that time is brain.

2.  Identify the most effective treatment for ischemic stroke, the value of IVtPA and how the mobile stroke unit will help patients.
