The 45th Annual Arvilla Berger Lecture, "Technological Disruption in Healthcare", presented by Simon Kos, MBBS, BSc(Med), MBA, Chief Medical Officer, Microsoft, Redmond, WA.

Educational Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation participants should be able to:

1.  Describe how artificial intelligence and machine learning will change the work and roles of caregivers.

2.  Explain the shift of consumerization in our society and how patient engagement models can deliver on these expectations.

3.  Describe the emerging role of virtual and mixed-reality in education, procedural planning and intraoperative scenarios.

4.  Explain the expanding importance of virtual care beyond telemedicine.
