Mary Ellen Riegel, M.D. Memorial Lecture. “The Role of Bioethics in Academic Medicine: Supporting Culture Change”, presented by Margie Hodges Shaw, JD, PhD, Associate Professor, Law and Bioethics, University of Rochester, Division of Medical Humanities & Bioethics.
At the conclusion of this presentation participants should be able to:
1. Describe key events that led to the creation of the field of bioethics.
2. Describe the URMC Program for Clinical Ethics.
3. Identify how bioethics can positively support a culture of inclusion and respect in Academic Medicine.
