At the conclusion of this presentation participants should be able to:
1. Understand potential mechanisms that lead to release of cell-free hemoglobin in sepsis.
2. Understand mechanisms by which cell-free hemoglobin may be injurious in sepsis.
3. Understand potential ways to therapeutically target cell-free hemoglobin in sepsis.
