DESCRIPTION:The Rochester community is invited to attend the Hajim School o
 f Engineering & Applied Sciences' Design Day\, where hundreds of students 
 showcase their capstone projects in person. Design capstones are culminati
 ng experiences for seniors in the Hajim School departments and programs\, 
 as well as students in data science and the Medical Technology and Innovat
 ion master's degree program.\n\nIn addition to providing hands-on opportun
 ities to create something novel\, the design projects offer opportunities 
 for students to connect with potential employers\, engage in global experi
 ences\, and conduct interdisciplinary research with collaborators from pla
 ces like the University of Rochester Medical Center. Clients who have pres
 ented the design capstone teams with problems have been providing input th
 roughout the semester as the students work on solutions under the guidance
  of their faculty advisors.\n\nMorning presentations take place from 9-11:
 30 a.m. and feature students from the following programs: audio and music 
 engineering\, computer science\, data science\, electrical and computer en
 gineering\, optical engineering\, and optics.Afternoon presentations take 
 place from 12:30-3 p.m. and feature biomedical engineering\, chemical engi
 neering\, mechanical engineering\, and students getting their master's fro
 m the Center for Medical Technology and Innovation. Hajim School Dean Wend
 i Heinzelman will offer remarks at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
