The Andrew W. Mellon Digital Humanities Fellows at the University of Rochester are pleased to invite you to attend our DigiTalks conversation over Zoom. The DigiTalks series features guest digital humanists in conversation about digital work in academia, public service, and industry. The featured guest for this talk is Hector Ouilhet, head of Human Centered Innovation and Strategy at Google.
Hector Ouilhet is a professional “people person” who humanizes computer interfaces to make them accessible for everyday people, uses technology to solve human problems, and unlocks the power of individuals to mobilize entire organizations. Hector did interface design for HP, among others, before he joined the MIT Mobile Experience lab and later, Google, where he has worked on multiple products (Android, Android TV, Sky Map, Docs, Maps, etc.) and led teams on multiple continents. He currently leads UX for all Google search-related products, promoting product innovation through human-centric design and culture. Hector has a BS in Computer Science from the UDLAP, and a MA in Interaction Design from the Interaction Design Institute of Ivrea in Italy.
