Dialogues des Carmélites (1956) by Francis Poulenc
Sung in French with English supertitles

Patrick Diamond, director
Timothy Long, conductor

This quasi-historical opera is set in Paris at the close of the 18th century. As signs of the French Revolution begin to unsettle the country, a fearful young noblewoman seeks sanctuary in a convent, where, in the midst of unspeakable tragedy, her faith in God will be tested.

To learn more, an hour before the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday performances, there is a pre-show talk about the piece and the production in Room 120 adjacent to Lowry Hall.  This talk is sponsored by the Friends of Eastman Opera (FEO).

Performances
Thursday, April 4 | 7:30pm
Friday, April 5 | 7:30pm
Saturday, April 6 | 7:30pm
Sunday, April 7 | 2:30pm
