About this Event
The concert features Church of the Ascension's historic 1928 pipe organ by the imminent American organ-builder, Ernest M. Skinner of Boston, an instrument comprised of four keyboards (called manuals), a pedalboard, and over 3,730 individual pipes. This instrument is one of the city’s musical jewels, having been moved to the church from the Masonic Temple,
now the Auditorium Theatre, in 1967. It is in completely original condition, using all of the original 1928 electrical and mechanical systems, and sounding exactly as it sounded in the 1920s.
