This workshop is designed to help faculty and staff improve their mentoring practice through a series of case studies focused on current issues in mentoring. Group discussions focused on current mentoring issues and trends help address mentoring competencies for the URMC community.
At the conclusion, participants should improve the following skills:
1. Initiate and maintain effective communication skills related to research
2. Develop skills for working in scientific teams and aligning expectations
3. Facilitate a protégé’s transition to independence
4. Promote professional development of protégé
