You’re invited to a powerful evening exploring systemic racism at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC).
Wendy Gonaver, a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Health Humanities & Bioethics, will guide us through a revamped version of Remembering 1619, the powerful exhibit created in 2020 by members of the Student National Medical Association. Examining the Past: The Struggle for Racial Equity at URMC uses newly available archival materials and oral histories to delve deeper into the legacy of slavery in the United States, Rochester, and, critically, within URMC itself.
Excerpts from Gonaver's research will be on display in the Flaum Atrium. We encourage you to join us in exploring the exhibit and connecting with members of the community in Flaum Atrium before and after the presentation in the Class of ’62 Auditorium.

6 – 7 p.m. (ET) | Presentation in Class of ’62 Auditorium
