About this Event
Featuring: Lisa Kahn, professor of economics
Presented by: The University of Rochester Alumni Board
During this Experience Rochester webinar, Professor Lisa Kahn will share explanations and predictions for the country's economic recovery. Her research suggests that the economic collapse was not caused solely by the stay-at-home orders and would not be undone simply by lifting them. It hit all US states, regardless of stay-at-home policies and it spanned nearly all industries and occupations. Listen and ask questions as Professor Kahn reviews US labor market trends during the COVID crisis and discusses the broad-based nature of the economic collapse in March and April. She will also delve into how employment rebounded in May and June—gaining half the ground lost in early spring—but has since slowed.
