Visiting faculty, Dr. Fernando Ontiveros, from St. John Fisher University.

Microfluidics technologies, at first the domain of engineers and chemists, are now being utilized by biologists in the fields of organ culture, bio sensing, diagnostics and biosynthesis, among other applications. The required expertise and cost of the use of this technology, however, are barriers of entry to researchers and students. Our laboratory has developed alternative fabrication platforms to make microfluidics widely and easily available in the research laboratory and the STEM classroom.

Hosted by the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) and cohosted by myHub and the Office of Equity and Inclusion.
