About this Event
1525 Calkins Rd, Pittsford, NY 14534
Wilmot Cancer Institute patients and caregivers are invited to a forest immersion event, where they'll experience the medicine of the forest.
The Japanese term Shinrin-Yoku roughly translates into "forest bathing" or immersing in the medicine of the forest. Those participating in this event will experience a guided gentle walk to access the peace, vitality, creativity and renewal of the forest. A forest immersion walk will help you experience a full sensory experience of our natural world. Research has shown that forest bathing may boost immune function, lower blood pressure and help with stress. Forest immersion has become a part of preventive health care in Japan due to its very positive impact on lowering stress.
Deborah Denome, of Finger Lakes Forest Immersion, will serve as our guide through Tinker Nature Park. There are only 20 spots available so sign up ASAP if you wish to join.
This program is free and is open to Wilmot Cancer Institute patients and their caregivers. The event is hosted by Wilmot Cancer Institute's Pluta Integrative Oncology & Wellness Center.
Registration is required; please call (585) 486-0630 to register or learn more.
