2024 marks the 34th iteration of Frühling Posaunen (Spring Trombones). This trombone choir festival takes place each Palm Sunday, continuing the original partnership forged by the Eastman School, the Penn State University School of Music and Ithaca College. Each institution rotates the hosting duties every three years. Most years, an invited guest group performs, as well.; joining us this year will be the Shenandoah Conservatory Low Brass Ensemble. Each group will perform a 20 minute segment on their own, followed by a mass ensemble performance of the Adagio from Saint-Saens’ Symphony No. 3. Joining us as guest conductor for the Saint Saens will be Mark Davis Scatterday, conductor of the Eastman Wind Ensemble.
