What MORE can we find? Using visual art to transform the care of older adults at home

Caring for older adults at home is a patient-centered way to ensure folks with limited ability to leave their homes can still receive goal-concordant care. However, coming into someone's home brings out a lot of our own biases and perspectives as care teams. Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) is an evidence-based teaching technique that uses specific arts-based facilitation to help individuals and groups explore what they see and what biases they may be bringing. This session would introduce the process of VTS using a piece of visual artwork and would explain how this approach can transform thinking for learners and care teams in home-based primary care.
