Ludger Brümmer is currently Professor for Composition with Digital Media and directs the music programme of the HertzLab at the ZKM Karlsruhe. He studied composition (artistic maturity) at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen and was Visiting Scholar at the Centre for Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford University, USA from 1991-1993. In 2000 he has been a Research Fellow at Kingston University London, and in 2002 Professor of Composition at the Sonic Arts Research Centre, Belfast (SARC). Since 2003 he became Director of the Institute for Music and Acoustics, now the HertzLab, at the ZKM | Centre for Art and Media and Visiting Professor at the University of Arts and Design Karlsruhe.
