Lecture: "Medical Complications of Eating Disorders: What to Know"

Patients with eating disorders frequently feel that they aren’t “sick enough” to merit treatment, despite medical problems that are both measurable and unmeasurable. They struggle to accept rest, nutrition, and a team to help them move towards recovery. Dr. Gaudiani will offer participants a comprehensive, accessible review of medical issues related to eating disorders. She will discuss evidence-based practices, clinical vignettes, and metaphors that she uses with patients during the treatment process.

Speaker: Jennifer Gaudiani is the founder and medical director of the Gaudiani Clinic and one of the only board-certified outpatient internal medicine certified eating disorder specialists in the U.S.

The event, sponsored by the Western New York Comprehensive Care Center for Eating Disorders, is free and open to the public.
