Visit Miner Library's History of Medicine for our returning exhibit that will be on display through August. Healing Waters explores the role of women as practitioners, patients, and advocates in the 19th century water-cure movement. Through materials from the Edward C. Atwater American Popular Medicine Collection, this exhibit sheds light on the water-cure establishments women helped to found, grow, and maintain—and the social norms they challenged through their advocacy for reform in health, hygiene, and women's rights.
