Creativity, Community & Belong: Creative Wellness Opportunities

Creative Wellness Opportunities (CWO) workshops and mutual support groups are formed and facilitated by peers in recovery and designed to be shared with individuals focused on their mental health journeys. During this presentation, Sarah Kinard will share the workshops and support the CWO provides to community members. 

Sarah Kinard is an artist, educator and Director of Creative wellness Opportunities. Her art practice is rooted in printmaking and painting. She holds an MFA in Studio Art from the Rochester Institute of Technology 2018 and a Bachelor’s in Studio Arts from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. Her artwork has been exhibited both internationally and nationally, including a solo exhibition with City Art Space (Rochester, NY 2021) and Play/Ground 2021( Buffalo, NY 2021), presented by Resource: Art (2021), with exhibitions of note, including Athens Open Art: Juried Art Number 23, Thissio, Greece (2020).

Lorin Alder, program coordinator at Creative Wellness Opportunities, and Julia Payne-Lewis
workshop facilitator, will share their insight and expertise.

The Healing Through the Arts & Humanities series is a collaboration of the Department of Health Humanities and Bioethics, Eastman Performing Arts Medicine, and Rochester community organizations. These interactive presentations will demonstrate the many ways that arts support and improve the health and wellbeing of our community members.
