Health Bites: Mindfulness and Meditation

Estalyn Walcoff, L.M.H.C., M.A., R.N.P.

Most people think of meditation as clearing your mind of all thoughts. In actuality, meditation is just practicing paying attention to one thing over and over again. In this seminar, an overview of the multitude of benefits of meditation will be presented. Much of the time will be spent in learning and practicing this ancient art. Estalyn Walcoff has an M.A. in Counseling Psychology and has been meditating for over 20 years. She teaches meditation at the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester as well as in her private psychotherapy practice.

Hi Carmen,

Thank you for this valuable feedback and we are sorry that parking caused you to skip this event. EAP is happy to provide a parking pass for those attending from outside of the Medical Center. If it is easier, the program can also be streamed live using Zoom. We will investigate how to better communicate this information for the future.

I will make sure that someone gets this comment about parking. Thank you!

CARMEN VINCENT-KING Tuesday, September 11, 2018

Hello, I was really looking forward to joining this even, but decided not to due to parking. I learned this morning that if i were to attend, I would have to pay for parking at SMH although I have a parking permit for Brooks Landing.

If I can make a small suggestion, perhaps provide a temporary parking permit (1-2 hours) for the day of the event an employee has registered for so that they can attend and park for free to join (if it's required for the event). I would love to participate in events in the future, but work offsite - Brooks landing and just wish parking was included. Thanks - Carmen
