Join the Junior Faculty Biomedical Research Association for a panel discussion about the process of hiring your first employee. Our panel is comprised of assistant and associate professors who have a variety of hiring experiences, both here and at other institutions. Come and learn about the pros and cons of hiring staff with different levels of education/experience, developing and writing a job description, the interview process, and mentoring/training your new employee.

Panel:

  • Anna DeBenedetto, MD, Associate Professor of Dermatology
  • Matthew D. McGraw, MD, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Division of Pulmonology
  • Regina K. Rowe, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Division of Infectious Diseases

At the conclusion of the seminar, the participant will be able to:

  • Tailor a job description to meet specific needs for a first hire
  • Construct interview questions to best evaluate potential candidates
  • Develop a plan to support the new employee after hiring
