Interdisciplinary Clinical Ethics Noon Conference

Martin Zand, M.D., Ph.D., professor of Medicine and Public Health Sciences and senior associate dean for URMC Clinical Research, will present "Big Data, Ethics, and Medicine."

The definition of big data and emerging applications will be presented. The presentation will focus on ethical issues in data use (privacy, the "right to be forgotten," and harm). Real-world examples of medical data use and ethical issues will inform a case-based discussion of potential ethical isues.
