lnteractive Workshop on DPS Proposal

The Committee for Political Engagement, a non-partisan student organization that works to engage students on political and social affairs, is organizing an informative, interactive and intersectional workshop that allows students from various parts of the University community to engage with the variety of viewpoints on Public Safety's proposed evolution of the armed peace officer program.

The event will cover 6 different topics, each with its own station for discussion and facilitation. Topics include

  • Details of the proposal and rationale behind it
  • Perspectives of the Eastman, Medical Center, and 19th Ward communities on the proposal
  • Insight into the work of a Public Safety officer
  • A creative brainstorm on what all the options may be
