It has been said that “Reading a good book is like taking a journey,” and what better place to explore in the dregs of winter than the warmth of the Memorial Art Gallery? On this MAGsocial DeTOUR℠ we are getting cozy with some favorite reads from The Secondhand Librarian aka Taylor Thomas*. Taylor will talk us through some of her most loved (and hated) books as we pair prose with our paintings and enjoy art inspired by literature. Get ready to be part of the coolest book club ever!
Space is limited.
Masks are required.
*Taylor Thomas is the owner of The Secondhand Librarian. What started as a hobby of hers has blossomed into a small business that has been such a wonderful experience. Taylor loves sharing her love of reading with her community. Taylor grew up in the DMV and was always getting in trouble for reading books at the table or sneaking a book with her to bed, reading way past lights out. She moved to Rochester about three years ago because of her wonderful husband and has since come to think of Rochester as her home. It’s such a great city, thriving with creativity and community and she is so grateful to be a part of that. While Secondhand is currently a one-woman show, operating out of her one-bedroom apartment in Park Ave, Taylor is hoping to eventually open up a storefront in Rochester to have a third space for readers and creatives alike. So, come and join us at the MAG as we talk books, art, and memes…the only three things Taylor actually ever talks about.
