Ever imagine what the Eastman Quad would look like if it was hosting a flock of flamingos? What if there was a “Floor-is-Lava” obstacle course from Rush Rhees Library to the Interfaith Chapel? Or maybe what the quad needs is several more statues?
Join Studio X, the University of Rochester's hub for immersive technologies, for this 1.5 hour-long hands-on workshop where you will learn the basics of Unity, a real-time creation platform used to build virtual worlds, games, animations, and much more. Unity is the engine behind all kinds of experiences such as Pokémon Go, Beat Saber, and the new Lion King movie. You will learn about its user interface, how to manipulate objects in 3D space, and other fundamental concepts.
This is a beginner-focused workshop, but all levels are welcome. More info and registration available at https://libcal.lib.rochester.edu/event/7189239
