Medieval Charters: What They Are and How to Use Them

This Medieval Studies Primary Source Workshop will be led by Dr. Megan Welton of Utrecht University. Participants will learn about charters as a primary source, exploring them as political, economic, and material objects. Participants will work with digital surrogates as well as charters from UR's mansucript collection, covering the Carolingian era through the late Middle Ages. 

Open to graduate and advanced undergraduate students.
