This course uses the Koru Mindfulness curriculum in an environment that promotes community for first-year students of color. Koru Mindfulness is a 4 session course that teaches mindfulness skills. Students will learn what mindfulness is and practice strategies to become more self-aware, less self-critical, and more at ease in stressful situations. Several meditation strategies and some basic yoga postures will be practiced during this course.

Although the focus of this course is supporting freshman students, sophomore - Seniors are welcome to be part of this course. You will get more from this course if you stick with it from beginning to end, so double-check your calendar before signing up. Participants who complete all 4 classes will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a self-care kit.
