Award-winning director and actor Giancarlo Esposito, who played evil businessman Gus Fring on the hit TV show Breaking Bad, will be the keynote speaker at the University’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Address on Thursday, January 30, 2025.

The event, cosponsored by the Office of the President and the Office of Minority Student Affairs (OMSA), is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Strong Auditorium on the River Campus. Doors will open at 4 p.m. There will be musical entertainment by a cappella groups, Yellow Jackets and After Hours, prior to the event.

Mr. Esposito will meet with student leaders in Feldman Ballroom after the address. 

Presented annually since 2001, the public keynote was instituted to promote issues of diversity, freedom, civil rights, and social justice.
