Serving as the lead study team for multisite research with an Exception from Informed Consent (EFIC) waiver can be a challenging prospect, even for the most seasoned researcher. Lisa Rigtrup, BS, CIP,  Kammy Jacobsen,  Lindsey Martineau, and Ryane Sorenson from the University of Utah IRB and Utah Data Coordinating Center will join us to discuss their experiences collaborating to launch EFIC research at sites across the country using single IRB (SIRB) oversight. The presenters will discuss innovations, lessons learned, and experiences from the perspective of the SIRB staff, IRB board members, and lead study coordinators related to the SIRB review and participating site startup process for EFIC research.
