The Sustainability Office is hosting the sixth annual Mystery Date with a Book as part of the Green Reps program. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate will be served in a warm, cozy setting while swapping gently used books. For the event, please bring:

One wrapped book

  • Find one you’re willing to part with and would recommend to someone.
  • Wrap it with construction paper, newspaper, scrap paper, or anything recycled.
  • Write a brief description or offer tantalizing clues (such as the genre, details that don’t give away the plot such as “You might like this book if you enjoyed x or y,” etc.).
  • Leave a business card or note with your email address in the book so you and the new owner can meet up and discuss (totally optional, of course).
  • Join us on February 13 and swap your book for a new one that catches your eye.

A mug—BYOM to help minimize waste.

A friend—This event is open to anyone with interest in books or the Green Reps program.

Books for all ages to donate (optional) — The University’s Little Free Libraries need children’s books so if you have any to spare, bring them along and we’ll make sure they are distributed.

RSVP by Friday, February 9, to greenreps@rochester.edu. We look forward to sipping warm beverages and swapping books with you!
