http://www.cvent.com/d/k6qpt1Monroe County has experienced a nearly tenfold increase in opioid-related deaths over recent years which has galvanized the community in responding to the epidemic. The county has been active in coordinated data acquisition to provide an assessment of the impact of the opioid epidemic in the region and is actively engaged in education and overdose prevention efforts. Education efforts to date have not specifically included the unique needs of older adults or their caregivers. This event will provide health professionals with up-to-date local & NYS data and services information regarding opioid use and risks in older adults.
This course is coordinated by the Institute for Innovative Education at the University of Rochester.
